Don Knotts (July 21, 1924 - February 24, 2006) was an American actor best known as Barney Fife on The Andy Griffith Show. He was the founder of One Kid Productions, which he founded in January 1986. Up until his death, he was the chairman of said company and wrote, produced, and directed every film up until his death. Judd Apatow is the company's current chairman, although other actors, actresses, directors, producers, and writers had filled in for Apatow.
His last film was The Celebrity Heist, which was released on July 11, 2006, and was dedicated to Knotts. He also appeared as himself in One Kid Meets His Creator.
